This was not something that Violet would usually do..but there were certain exceptions, even for the cautious and introverted Violet. Her brothers drew out a side of her that few others could. If someone else told her she was too scared to do something, she'd quietly agree with them or even run away. When her brother suggested it? Well, she had to prove him wrong of course! She guzzled the potion and then walked away.

..she initially planned to find another place to read her book, but suddenly something so..quiet and lonely didn't sound so appealing to her? It was much too lovely a day to spend it all inside! Violet shoved her book back into her bag and headed outside, a huge smile on her face. She didn't connect the dots to consider that this might have to do with the potion that she just imbibed.

Once she made it outside she spotted someone on the path out to the gardens, where she was headed to take a look at the beautiful plants that were there."Hey, beautiful day out isn't it?" She remarked, beaming. She hardly even registered that this was something that she would usually never, ever do. She just knew that it was a beautiful day, that there was nothing to worry about (for once), and that she wanted to share that with someone. Whether that someone was someone that she actually knew or not.

Perhaps her brother had done her a favor after all, allowing her some time to enjoy herself while her worries were held at bay. Perhaps she'd make a new friend out of the deal after this all blew over. More likely she'd be horrified at what happened after the effects of the potion wore off and would hide herself away. But for the time being at least, she felt free

Quick note - Most of this is not set in stone. I'm perfectly willing to edit my app/discuss any changes with anyone who wants to do something different with any of these characters than what I had in mind. <3

This is Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible from The Incredibles. He is referenced in Violet's app as Bob Parsons, the father of Violet and her two brothers. The way I have it in the app, Bob was born and raised in a wizarding village where he never had to hide his magic from anyone..until his job at the Ministry required him to move to a Muggle town and live among Muggles. He's not a big fan of the change but continues on with it for the sake of his job and his family. I don't have any ideas for face claims, and honestly things are pretty open with him.

This is Helen Parr/Elastigirl from The Incredibles. She's referenced in Violet's app as Helen Parsons, and she's the mother of Violet and her two brothers. She's more open-minded to living among Muggles, having been exposed to it more while she was growing up (despite being a pureblood as well), and seems to have adjusted better than her husband. I don't have any ideas for face claims, and things are pretty open for her as well.

This is Dash Parr from The Incredibles, or Violet's brother Dash from her app. I picture him being a year or two younger than Violet, in his third or fourth year. I also picture him being fairly athletic, possibly a Quidditch player. I picture he and Violet getting along much as they do in the movie..getting on each other's nerves pretty consistently but really caring about each other in the end. Don't really have any face claim ideas, and again things are open.

This is Jack-Jack Parr from The Incredibles, or Violet's brother Jack from her app. Instead of being a baby (as that would be relatively hard to play on this site), I picture Jack as still being the youngest of the three siblings but in his first or second year at school. I picture him showing his powers late and in a big way, much as Jack-Jack did in the movie. And..as you might have guessed, I don't really have any ideas for face claims, and things are pretty open here too.

PERSONALITY

The first observation one might make about Violet Parr is that it is actually rather hard to observe her at times. She tends to fade into the background, partially out of her fashion choice but more-so because of her actions. Violet tries to do relatively little to attract attention to herself as a result of learning not to do so from a young age. Drawing attention to herself meant people would ask questions about her and her family's magic, and she couldn't have that now could she?

At the same time, Violet may seem like a content loner but she's actually rather lonely. She has her family, and despite how much angst she might throw at her parents and how much she might nitpick at her siblings, she loves them all dearly and would be horrified if anything happened to them. She actively fears being alone, because although she doesn't want negative attention from others, she doesn't want to be left alone entirely.

Violet wants to come out of her shell but she's afraid to. She's afraid of judgement. She knows that once she starts it will gradually get easier, but she's still nervous. The few friends that she has made during her time at school she holds dearly. Even though she might not actively participate much in the social scene, Violet is quite observant of what's happening around her..often wishing that she could find the courage to join in

HISTORY

Bob and Helen Parsons both came from highly respected pureblood families. Bob came from a family that rarely ever interacted with Muggles or even Muggleborns, while Helen's family had a history of interacting with all walks of life. During the early years of their marriage and the first few years of their children's lives, they lived in a wizarding village where they were free to use their magic to their heart's content, and there was no need to hide who they were.

Then Bob was given an assignment with the Ministry that required him to live among Muggles. For the first time in his life, he had to try to hide who he was..and to say that he did not adjust well would be an understatement. Helen found it much easier. In the end, it was agreed upon by both parents to keep the knowledge of their blood status from their children until they were old enough to understand that their magic needed to be kept a secret. Unfortunately, this did not take into consideration the mishaps that came with being a child with magic..mishaps that had a habit of turning up before one was old enough to 'keep the secret' by definition of their parents.

Violet was an observant girl, not to mention the oldest of three siblings. Dash and Jack might be easier to placate and fool as they were younger, but not her. She noticed that weird things happened around her house. She knew that her family could do things that others couldn't. And it made her feel strange once she realized that no one else could. Fortunately there were no major slips of the tongue, but that didn't mean that there weren't other slip-ups.

Violet was never the most outgoing girl, not helped by the fact that she never quite felt that she could open up as a result of her family's 'secret' (though she surely did not understand the extent of said secret). Her confidence issues had a direct impact on her magic, which meant that there were frequent mishaps whenever Violet was frightened or upset. She even managed to turn herself invisible before giving a major presentation at school.

She wasn't the only one. Dash began showing his magic in time as well, though rather than be embarrassed or confused by it he readily embraced it. The only one of the three siblings to not show their abilities at this point was Jack, and Violet began to envy the most 'normal' member of the family. How easy it would be to blend in if she was normal. She wouldn't have to be afraid of stepping out of line and drawing attention to herself.

Shortly before it was time to send Violet off to school, her parents finally explained the truth about their abilities. While she could understand logically where her parents were coming from, she was a frustrated and angsty preteen and thus her parents' confession resulted in her storming up to her room and sulking for several hours before finally coming down and joining the family for dinner. She sat and watched quietly as Dash began to ask question after question about the wizarding world..and Violet slowly began to join in. She was apprehensive but yet curious.

As the oldest of the three Parsons children, Violet was the first to leave for Beauxbatons. She did not make the Elites, nor did she have any particular interest in doing so. She did not want to draw negative attention to herself off of the bat.

..unfortunately, years of retreating into her shell meant that even in an environment surrounded by those who were like her, Violet was afraid of stepping out. She learned to accept her powers as something normal, but as much as she wanted to be accepted by her peers? She was so afraid of being ridiculed or shunned that she was afraid to even take the chance.

She wasn't a complete recluse, making a few friends - But they were usually those who approached her first and took the time to get to know her and build up her trust before she opened up to them. Dash came to Beauxbatons a couple of years later, immediately making a splash and showing off his talents as an athlete..of course.

For a long time the Parsons family wondered if Jack would even be able to attend Beauxbatons. Unlike Violet and Dash, Jack showed no clear signs of magic ability at first. Helen and Bob (especially Bob) began to worry that Jack was a squib. It wasn't until someone broke into the house when Jack was with a babysitter that Jack finally showed signs of magic prowess. Jack thus started at Beauxbatons soon after Dash, right on time even though his magic showed a little late.

And now Violet must content with both of her younger brothers at Beauxbatons while she tries to manage the social scene that she feels eternally ill-prepared for. What joy. Though at least with her brothers there she'll never be quite alone..

CONNECTIONS

The Parsons family and their background - This is based off of the Parrs in the Incredibles. I kept their names the same, except that Jack-Jack is just Jack here because I figured I'd make him a bit closer in age to Violet and Dash in case someone wanted to play him on site. Moving from an entirely wizarding village to the Muggle world was supposed to be a reference to the Supers having to go into hiding in The Incredibles.

-Violet turning herself invisible - While Violet's magic is obviously going to be different in this universe than her powers in The Incredibles, I had to have some sort of shout out. Thus she turned herself invisible as one of her first signs of magic in elementary school. Seemed fitting enough.

-Violet's jealousy over Jack being 'normal' - This came from a literal quote in the movie. "We act normal, Mom! I wanna be normal! The only normal one is Jack-Jack, and he's not even toilet trained!"

- Also related to Jack-Jack/Jack..showing his powers late. In both the movie and this app, he's not as normal as everyone thinks at first. Someone breaking into the house was a reference to Syndrome going after him and trying to kidnap him in the movie, which is when Jack-Jack first showed his powers.

- Violet grew up learning to keep secrets and keep to herself in both the movie and this app. Despite entering a world where she was more free to be herself, I didn't see those traits disappearing from Violet that easily. She certainly could open up more, just like she did in the movie, but she's going to need some nudging in that direction.

- Her patronus being a turtle is both a reference to her personality and her literal powers in the movie. When she was trying to look after her crush in the movie, she literally turned invisible in a way that seemed reminiscent of a turtle ducking into its shell to protect itself. Also Violet can generate force-fields in the movie. Again with the shell/protective barrier.
